People have always told me I have a great smile. I don't think I have particularly pretty facial features - a traceable combination of Crow and my German family lines - but I do know that my smile makes a difference in this world - and for that I'm grateful.
Last week, while in Las Vegas, I went for a walk following a call with Sweet Stuff. Half a dozen people stopped me and complimented me on my smile. I was happy and it showed.
Some days it isn't so easy. Yesterday was a Monday through and through. But, I tried. Hoping it would make a difference. In one case it didn't, but in a couple of others it did. A co-worker was having a really rough day. He gave me some news that I wasn't happy to hear. I commented: "That's OK, so far it is the high point of today". He laughed. Later, I'd received a compliment on his months of efforts on a project and I sent it off to him. At the end of the day he truly looked beat (at least I had a few things on each side of the scale and could say my day still turned out on the upside). He thanked me for the laugh, the compliment and asked me about my day.
So even if your frown is around your ankles today - try to give it a lift. It will make someone else's day, which in turn can elevate yours. This is my mantra and I'm sticking to it.
